Description of Action

Advertisements for bids were placed in local papers in November, 2015 to bid the OASIS IX neighborhood improvement project (Davis Isles/Moe Udell St). A mandatory pre-bid was held on November 20 at City Hall. The City of Dania Beach opened bids for the project on Friday, December 11, 2015 at 10:30 am. There were three responsive bidders as follows:

Bidder

Total Bid including Alternates 1 & 2

DP Development

 $  147,524.50

Close Construction

 $  149,000.00

Sagaris Corp

 $  156,780.00

Note that Grelite Inc’s bid was not opened as they did not attend the mandatory pre-bid conference.

DP Development of the Treasure Coast, LLC has performed 4 prior OASIS projects and their work has been excellent. Therefore, based on the bids received, the project consultant and the bid committee recommendation, we recommend awarding the bid to the lowest bidder, DP Development of the Treasure Coast, LLC in the amount of $147,524.50.

It should be noted that after the bids were received the Davis Isles neighborhood asked if some changes to the landscaping could be made. As these changes are evaluated, staff requests that any changes order that would be needed, but which remains below the total contract amount, be approved.

The funding for this project appropriated in the Grant’s Fund Account # 103-39-57-541-63-10 in the amount of $160,000.
